Outdoor Learning - Rain or shine!
Engaging outdoor learning & Playing
Playing outside is an important part of your child's growth, learning and physical development. Part of your child's day at KSP will include 90 min outdoor play & learn time. Preschoolers are natural scientists! We will use our outdoor learning time to focus on the wonders of the world we live in! Students should come to school dressed ready for any of our crazy PNW weather. We will go outside rain or shine (but...not if there is lightning!) :) Gross motor skill development, coordination and imagination with hands-on natural materials are all part of the learning your child will do!

We have a family veggie garden. The preschool students will help to plant, take care of the veggies, harvest and try them in season! We will take our classroom learning about life cycles, seeds, plants, pollinators, etc. and apply it to our outdoor veggie garden time.

Tree swing is one of the gross motor (& fun!) outdoor activities at KSP. We will incorporate Social Emotional learning into our outdoor play. A few examples are: practicing patience and turn taking, handling disappointment when we don't get to go first or have to wait and share.
